Hawks FC

Hawks FC is rooted in a friendship and shared passion for soccer that began in 2004 when Kaila Jenkins and Maya Pitts first met. As young girls, they joined the Montclair Blue Hawks at U9, forming a lifelong connection. The name “Hawks FC” is a tribute to those early days and a reminder of the little girls who fell in love with the game. Kaila and Maya played together through middle school, competing for SDFC and Livingston Lynx, and continued through high school.

In 2018, they began coaching together and regularly discussed what was missing in youth soccer. They observed disparities in commitment and opportunities between boys and girls, which inspired Kaila’s mission to start an all-girls club. While many boys had numerous clubs to choose from, the number of girls participating—and the resources available to them—were significantly fewer.

Hawks FC aims to eliminate financial barriers and place girls at the forefront, fostering an environment where players are pushed, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential. Mental well-being is central to our mission; we believe players thrive when they feel supported not only physically and technically, but emotionally as well. At Hawks FC, we hope to show young players their potential, develop their love for the game, and create a community where every member of the Hawks family can truly thrive.

We are committed to building a soccer community that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusivity, and empowers every player to excel. By 2034, we hope to be a fully free program for girls to train and play in top leagues and tournaments—free of cost.
